Mid-States Poker Tour: Running Aces Tournament

Mid-States Poker Tour Running Aces Tournament2The Mid-States Poker Tour has been in full swing over the past few months. They have made plenty of stops throughout the United States, with some great poker being played at those venues. The last stop was at the Potawatomi Hotel, which ended up turning into the largest event in MSPT history. Their next event will take place at Running Aces in Minnesota, with some of the best players in the country set to attend.

This poker event will be a week long, starting on the 13th of September and extending till the 21st of September. Gaming starts early in the morning that Saturday and finishes next Sunday evening. It is the second time during this year that MSPT is visiting Running Aces. The last tournament was a bit smaller, with the winner getting around $90,000 in prize money.

Mark Sandness took home the gold during that event, outlasting around 350 people to take home the grand prize. Some great players have won events at Running Aces, with the likes of Joe Mathesom, Rodger Johnson and Jason Seitz past winners. It will be interesting to see whether this month’s event is won by a seasoned professional or a relative newcomer.

The owner of the Mid-States Poker Tour believes that all their events in 2014 have been a huge success. He was delighted with the size and scope of the Milwaukee event a few weeks ago. He wants Minnesota to be an even better occasion. “We always have a great time when we go to Running Aces. It has been a mainstay on our calendar for a few years now, and we are delighted to be visiting again. I am hoping to see some high class poker action at this event,” he said.

The total prize money for this event is set at $200,000, with the winner set to pocket just over half of that total. The buy in for the event is $1,000, with around 200 players expected to attend.
